“Tech. Thought Leader Sumant Parimal Not For Pausing A.I. Innovations”

Recently several Global Tech. leaders including Elon Musk have called for ‘Pause’ on development of advanced A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) systems such as OpenAI’s GPT, keeping in view lack of suitable governance and regulation frameworks for preventing misuse of A.I. Tech.

In an open letter floated on futureoflife.org , more than 1000 Tech. leaders have given a joint call to all A.I. labs to immediately pause for at least six months the training of A.I. systems more powerful than GPT-4.

However, Chief Analyst of 5 Jewels Research (5JR) and A.I. Tech. Thought Leader Mr Sumant Parimal is not for pausing A.I. innovations aligned with objective of upliftment of mankind and civilization.

Giving his perspectives on recent moratorium appeal of tech. leaders like Elon Musk, Founder of Tesla, and Steve Wozniak, Co-founder of Apple, A.I. Tech. Thought Leader, and Sr. Analyst Mr Sumant Parimal said “Concerned raised by Tech. leaders like Elon Musk, Steve Wozniak and many others on recent A.I. developments are genuine concerns but these are not unknown and new concerns to the World. A.I. systems are under research and development since many decades now, and in every phase of A.I. evolution, similar kind of concerns used to be raised. But despite those concerns on misuse of A.I. Tech. and A.I. superseding human intelligence, we have seen tremendous growth in A.I. innovations particularly recently developed generative A.I. tools like ChatGPT and its latest version GPT-4, which is much powerful than its previous versions. We believe that even present state of A.I. systems like GPT-4 are very early and basic A.I. applications, augmenting human being on Internet by mining data and information already available on Internet. A.I. models like GPT-4 have no existence beyond Internet unlike dangerous physical weapons, hence it should not be equated with dangerous chemical or atomic weaponsfor creating threats in minds of public and Governments around the World”.

Until A.I. becomes available everywhere in nature and universe, beyond present day Internet, to augment humans, other living creatures, and natural substances, we can’t say that we have travelled significant journey in A.I. development to have a need of pressing a panic pause button. As per our estimates, A.I. journey till GPT-4 is not even 5 to 10% of true future potentials of A.I. Tech.” Sumant Parimal said further.

“Due to excessive constraints on our present compute power, even perceived dangerous version of A.I. applications like ChatGPT/GPT-4 won’t be able to create any massive devastating impact in virtual (Internet) as well as physical world. Thus, our hardware capability (compute power) limitations and constraints are already acting as pause button for so called uncontrolled growth of A.I. until a point when Quantum Computers starts delivering that high performance compute power required for ultra-high grade A.I. Apps. With these insights, we at ‘5 Jewels Research’ believe that this is not a time to pause new A.I. innovations just because we have no confidence in our own industry level governance standards as well as our own Govt. level rules and regulations which are under existence for protecting interests of mankind and the world at large. Hence it’stime to consistently upgrade our rules and regulations to prevent misuses of power of A.I., but that can be done in tandem with speed of innovation, both (A.I. innovation and A.I. regulations) should continue evolving together without any hindrance of panic pause” said Sumant Parimal, Chief Analyst of 5JR.
